Birju Maharaj was a famous Indian Kathak Dancer & Classical Dancer.

Birju Maharaj was born on 4 February 1938 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

His full name is Pandit Brijmohan Mishra.

His father's name is Jagannath Maharaj.

Birju Maharaj started teaching dance at the age of 23 at Sangeet Bharati in New Delhi.

On 20 May 1947, when he was only 9 years old, his father died.

In 2016 he received a Filmfare Award for choreographing the song "Mohe Rang Do Lal" in the Hindi film Bajirao Mastani.
